So glad to read this. Before I’d even realised her series was out I came across a barrage of posts on here about people ‘wanting to defend her but simply not being able to’ and I found it so bizarre and surprising, not least because it was all coming from women. I watched the show and quite liked it, It was a bit of inspirational escapism because obviously I’d love to have a big farmhouse near the mountains. Yes it was a bit pretentious but as you say, no more than any other series of its kind. I like Meghan, I think she’s brave and talented.
YES, exactly this! I saw a comment on another post that said something along the lines of, 'even if Meghan invented a cure for cancer, she would still get ripped to shreds.' It couldn't be more accurate.

Like what if we took the energy of the hate being thrown at her for what really, the grand scheme of things, is not that detrimental of a show and instead concentrated on the people (mostly men) in power who are posing real serious dangerous threats to our safety
People are being so nasty to the point of bullying. Every breath she takes is critiqued and dissected it’s just ridiculous and totally unnecessary. If I was her I’d just want to hide in some cave I’d be so fearful of doing or saying anything. Just let her be !!!!
I'll be honest, I haven't watched yet, but boy have I seen the hatered. And for what reason?? Because a woman is enjoying her life?? So ridiculous. I loved this and that you brought it to attention. At the end of the day, I think it is brave of her to put herself out there knowing so many people love to hate her and I admire that she did
I don’t understand why can’t people just walk by.. we live in such a cruel world. And she created something kind and beautiful instead of sitting on a couch and texting bad things to people she doesn’t know.
I was actually enjoying it - it is beautifully filmed and presented - and it is a fantasy to dip into as many have cited. She seemed to have a warm connection with her make up artist - it was all going well! But then her response to Mindy Kaling re ‘it’s so funny, you know I am Sussex now’ oof - why did Netflix let that be included?! I am far, far from being the only person who just thought that was an incredibly rude response (before everyone jumps on me for - ‘she was just stating a fact’ ‘she is clear about her boundaries’ ‘it’s your problem, not hers’ etc etc. No folks - it was rude. Then the ‘lewk’ mocking. Mindy was very gracious and I am now a fan. Those interactions were when I, and many, switched off. It was unfortunate that one of the things she has been accused of - a bullying tone, was presented so clearly in that moment. I wish she could change that aspect of herself because I think she could be much more likeable, watchable and supported.
Yes, thank you for this! I've seen so much hate for her from women who really don't know her! Why? I loved her show and will continue watching any new seasons.
