What a wonderful post, I really enjoyed it. I have spent hours imagining what my life would be like in other places, and sometimes when I go to these places I pretend, for a time, that I’m living there. I know one day I’ll return to the coast, but for now I am content to dream and to be reminded how lovely life can be exactly where you are 😊 xxx

Thank you so very much, Julia! I'm glad I'm not the only one who imagines herself living in all the places she visits! It's a lovely thing to be able to daydream and to appreciate something wonderful in the moment, and to also come back to the familiarity of home and all the ordinary beauty that comes with that xxx

You know when there’s a post you stumble across in Notes where you believe it was written just for you - well that’s how I feel about this one. I often dream and plan and dream some more about a later-in-life life in Cornwall. Thank you for sharing this. 🙏

Gosh, I adored this Lauren. What a beautiful read.

I always envision myself moving to the coast for at least some period of my life, there's something so blissful about sea air.

A beautiful meandering post. I always contemplate a life in Cornwall too. But then I’d be there, wishing I was back here perhaps. I feel like Bath and its surrounding countryside is my soul home. But Cornwall is my escape x

The joy of simply imagining! I love this so much. But I loved this little bit the most ~ "I spend far too much time putting inordinate amounts of pressure on myself to do something extraordinary with my life, but simply being present and alive to witness it is probably the most extraordinary thing I could ever hope to do." I think this sums up so very much of life... thank you for writing. x

Glad you are having a wonderful time in Cornwall. Coping with the crowds in the summer makes it much less idyllic.

Life is felt in the little moments, those moments where we feel the joy pour in, as you beautifully describe. As for jobs, I am seeking a role in the working world that I don't think exists for souls like mine. Whenever, I look for jobs, I am immediately deterred by the way a job is described, words like, demanding, meticulous, work well under pressure, the irony in those combined words alone, pressure and well, screams no way for me! For now I shall just keep writing and who knows what doors may open along the way.
