Yes! I have definitely started to think a bit more about what I wear in recent years, but it’s all about balance. Most days I’m in my comfies, and stretchy waistbands and loose tops are in, no matter the occasion. But I’m also having more fun with clothes - and it’s paying off. My sister, who I always saw as the ‘cool one’, is often telling me how well I’m dressed. I never thought I’d see the day.

All this to say yes, be yourself, love what you wear, and don’t let them fool you into thinking we need a ‘clean-girl capsule wardrobe’.

And for what it’s worth, I always think you look super chic AND happy!

I loved this read. Thank you for sharing! I couldn’t agree more. I am having the most fun wearing whatever the hell I want lately.

Wowww I loved this!! And I couldn’t agree more. I lost all my clothes in a fire last year, and my outlook on purchasing new items has changed SO much. I am far less materialistic. And interestingly, I now see how much we’re fed a belief that we must have ‘our own’ style in order to feel our best, but then also keep up with trends (ie. an impossible mix 😂).

I actually just wrote a piece on how I travelled for nine weeks with one backpack, and how much I gained from being so minimal 😊 What we’re wearing doesn’t define the joy we can experience 🫶🏻

Love this Lauren. I've bought clothes less and less frequently over the past few years and I think it's because I stopped following these influencers and the online trends - instead I only buy clothes when I need them (eg replacing worn items). You're right that personal style might not be something we ever reach but as I get older I find more and more enjoyment in wearing the same clothes that I love, over and over, instead of switching up my wardrobe ever few months.
