Huge kudos to you for doing the scary thing. We've already chatted about this, but you know I hate driving too, and totally sympathise. I can honestly tell you, though, that the thought of it is always worse than the actual doing, especially once you get the hang of it. I've even actually enjoyed the last few drives I've been on (months ago!).
It sounds like you'll be needing to drive a lot, too, which will really help - my issue is I can avoid it and so I do, and the dread never really goes away. Just keep doing it!
It's so refreshing to chat about how anxiety-inducing it is, in a world which loves (maybe even worships) the car. I am sending you all the good-driving vibes and will be (spiritually) with you in the back seat all the way.
I was in a similar situation many years ago, when we moved to the country. I did have a motor bike but in winter that was horrible. I remember stopping and staring at a road of frozen ice on a hill and realising I just didn't dare try driving down it.
What tipped it for me was someone suggesting I learnt in an automatic. Not only was that easier to drive (and is increasingly ordinary now) but the teacher was someone who specialised in helping anyone who had difficulties So he was kind and thoughtful and I passed first time. My husband cried.

Thank you so much Jo ❤️ I deffo won’t be a car worshipper and we still plan to get buses when we can, but it’ll be so good to have some freedom!
Good luck Lauren!! I’m so sure you’ll be fine, once you get the hang of it, driving can actually be quite therapeutic
Thank you my love ❤️

I’m learning automatic too! I think it’s the right choice for me ❤️
Makes it so much easier - and the instructor was great. Good luck!!
So proud of you Lauren, you can do it, I have every faith in you 🥰❤️
