The Sunday Scroll: Stars Hollow, Taylor x the Royals and football fever 💫 🦋 ⚽️
Your Sunday scroll through some of the best things I saw on the internet this week
Happy Sunday, and welcome to the Sunday Scroll! This is your opportunity to ‘dream scroll’ rather than ‘doom scroll’ - a lovingly curated list of uplifting content that will (hopefully) make you feel just a tiny bit better about the world before another week begins 🥰
I am currently battling a delightful summer cold and am therefore not feeling my best, so I really need this happy little list to work its magic on my soul today. Let’s gooooo!
1. Glastonbury checklist
I have absolutely no desire to ever step foot on Worthy Farm during Glastonbury weekend (crowds? Loud music? Grim food/toilets/tents that have been defecated on in the middle of the night? No thank you) - HOWEVER, give me a comfy sofa, plenty of drinks/snacks and Shania Twain on the blissfully early Sunday afternoon Legends slot and I am there.
2. A truly iconic interaction between Lorelai and Emily
Emily in her dating era was the gift that kept on giving on season 5 - and while I was desperate for them to get over it, kiss and make up, these scenes were absolutely worth the temporary separation of everyone’s favourite couple. Plus, the vow renewal? The return of Christopher? The beginning of Rory and Logan? PERFECTION.
3. The King and Queen of America and the (future) Kings of England walk into a bar…
When I tell you my soul left my body when I saw those selfies of Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, I am not exaggerating. I mean, this was the pop culture moment of the decade, the most iconic photo of the entire Eras Tour and the source of hundreds if not thousands of hysterical WhatsApp messages in group chats with names like ‘mama’s swifties’ or ‘swiftogeddon’. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE, especially if you’re both British and a Swiftie.
4. Vintage Posh and Becks
Honestly, not much more to say here - I just really loved this photo of Victoria and David in the 90s in Portofino. The carefree summer vibes are vibing.
4. The internet says no
Speaking of football, these tweets about the Euros really had me chuckling. Harry Kane landed himself in hot water when he said, “we haven't won anything as a nation for a long, long time,” seemingly forgetting the fact that the Lionesses won the Euros for England back in 2022, and the internet wasn’t having any of it.
Twitter ( I still refuse to call it ‘X’ tbh) really comes into its own in moments like this, and soon there were almost too many hilariously accurate tweets to keep up with. Here are just a few to remind you that women are bloody amazing, and maybe Harry should take a leaf out of Andy Murray’s book and be bit more specific with his statements about who is and isn’t winning here.
5. Big, brave and overwhelmed
Aaaaand we’re finishing on this little gem from Abbie Rose on Instagram, who designs fun prints for the big brave brilliant girlies who watch Gilmore Girls when they’re sad, find big crowds or generally going outside overwhelming and still spell out ‘Wed-nes-day’ in their heads (a.k.a me).
Thank you for scrolling with me, and if you’re gearing up for Shania’s set like me (with blankets, tea and snacks), ENJOY! Whatever this week throws at you, just know that you can do anything, but you can’t do everything. ❤️

Loved this scroll! Living for the 'dream scroll rather than doom scroll' too.
Also I'm with you on the Glastonbury front - I live for watching live music from the comfort of my sofa!
Travis Kelce calling the future king “the coolest motherf***er” is something I’ll never forget 😂 I’ll be joining you with a big hot chocolate and Shania Twain later at the furthest possible point from the muddy fields. I hope you feel better soon!!
