Happy Friday, friends! Here’s a list of things that have brought me joy this week, because why not? January can feel very grey and very gloomy, so I’m squeezing every drop of joy that I can possibly get from the lemons that life has dealt me this month (and let’s be honest, they’re pretty nice lemons. I’m extremely lucky to have these lemons, in the grand scheme of things).
Chatting with the very friendly nurse about our new house while she (very efficiently) did my smear test
Working with a fab (all female!) team on the campaign for a brand new recipe book
My driving instructor telling me that my position on the road has really improved (and managing to bay park in a deserted garden centre car park without hitting anything or anyone)
Finally starting to look at ideas for my office renovation
Spending three hours at brunch on a chilly Sunday morning, drinking tea and chewing the fat with a dear friend
A Saturday date afternoon in Battersea that ended in James and I buying a new sofa (somehow this felt like more of a commitment than buying our house)
Doing the weekly house clean and the heading straight out for a long walk and one too many glasses of red wine at the pub
Watching Call the Midwife (need I say more - it’s the best)
Getting the hang of the milk frother on our new coffee machine
Taking time to read in the evenings instead of always watching TV
What’s on your joy list? 👇
Sounds like a joyful week! The milk frother mastery is a big win, next stage: latte art 👏
That’s a jolly joyful week. Surely Lola Young’s Messy making it to #1 in the charts is a reason to be joyful. I am hoping inspiration was taken from her song which I can’t get out of my head. 🤞🏻🤔😊 Making it to the end of the work week & turning the laptop off was a great feeling. Starting a new book, taking my team for a belated Xmas lunch - some joy amongst the chaos x
